Wyoming!!

Day 13.

We woke up at Michael and Abbey’s house. The night before they had invited us to cook breakfast with them in the morning, so when we woke up a few of us went to the market to grab groceries and start cooking while everyone else slowly woke up. We made so much french toast (we had a loaf of bread that was bound to go bad soon so we were stoked)! We all ate as much as we could manage. It was so fun to hang out with them. Michael and Abbey are both originally from Washington, but moved to Idaho for the outdoors. When I was talking with Michael, he was so encouraging in embracing the experience of our journey and saying how the more you don’t have planned out, the more you open yourself up for opportunities and possibilities… Yay!

Although today was a shorter day for miles, we climbed over Teton Pass into Wyoming which was some steep climbing. 10% grade at times! The climb was beautiful, though!

We went to a Mexican restaurant after we finished our ride…note to self, Mexican food is not Wyoming’s strong point.

Afterwards we went to our sweet hosts for the night! (ended up being the next 2 nights!) Maria and Berkley are an elderly couple- been married for 53 years!! A few days ago we met Gary at a bike shop, and he connected us with them! They are SO sweet and generous. We came after dinner but they had cookies and ice cream waiting for us! Their house is beautiful and they are letting us stay in their guest cottage. They also have a little corgi named, Lulu!

For our off day we are going into Yellowstone, tomorrow and Maria is leaving us snacks and packing us goodies for our trip! They are the kindest hosts!

Let’s be honest, I am in love with Wyoming already.
